Orpic is committed to Omanisation, and currently over 73% of our employees are Omani Nationals. We realise that between now and 2018, when the last of our major projects is completed, our technical staffing levels will have to increase considerably, and, with that in mind, in 2012 we started a programme for trainee graduates, taking on board 110 newly graduated Omanis who spent up to 18 months training within the company.
The success of the course, run by our own Training Centre, means that for 2013 the graduate number of 110 was repeated, with the programme set to expand to 200 graduates in 2014.
In addition, we of course recognise the need to infuse our system with the best international expertise and experience, talent which must also be capable of passing knowledge effectively to our new generation of Omani engineers.
